The Piper Seminole is used in our multiengine, instrument, and flight instructor training courses. Powered by two 180 hp Lycoming engines, the 4 place Seminole has a 162 kt maximum cruise speed, a climb rate of 1,220 fpm, and a maximum range of 834 nm. The Seminoles unique T-tail design provides light, responsive control by increasing the effectiveness of the horizontal stabilizer. Because it is located up out of the propeller slip stream and wingwash, the T-tail lowers vibration and reduces cabin noise. The T-tail concept also provides improved pitch and trim control. But most importantly as a multiengine trainer, the Seminole provides big airplane handling characteristics and flight experience at a fraction of the cost. All in all, its not too hard to understand why the Piper Seminole is the number one multiengine trainer in the country.
