Domestic Student Enrollment
If you are a U.S. resident and have decided to flight train with Mazzei Flying Service, please do the following:
1. Complete the Application for Enrollment and forward to Mazzei Flying Service along with a check or money order for $150.00 made payable to Mazzei Flying Service. You may also apply ONLINE using our secure server, and use your credit card to pay the $150 fee. If you apply online and wish to use a credit card as method of payment, please include type (Visa or Master Card), name, account number, and expiration date. The advance payment reserves your place in the school and is refundable less a $50.00 administrative fee should you decide not to attend.
2. If possible, you must obtain an FAA medical examination for the class medical appropriate to the pilot certificate you are seeking. A list of FAA medical examiners for your area can be obtained by contacting your nearest FAA Office. You may also search online for FAA medical examiners at the FAA Aeromedical site. If you prefer, you can take the medical exam in Fresno prior to enrollment. The fee for the exam is $100.00. The cost of the exam is not included in the course price.
3. As required by the Transportation Security Administration under the Department of Homeland Security to establish U.S. citizenship, you must provide a either a valid, unexpired passport, or a government-issued certified birth certificate of the U.S. together with a government-issued picture identification, or for government or military personnel, the agency’s written certification of your citizenship together with your government-issued credential or other Federally-issued picture identification. 4. You must be able to read, speak and understand English. If you have any concerns regarding your English ability, please phone our school. We will be happy to assist in determining your English ability.
Confirmation of Enrollment
When your Application for Enrollment has been accepted, a letter of confirmation will be mailed to you. The letter will confirm your course enrollment, start date, and special housing arrangements if requested. Any estimate of course credit will be based upon the flight information you provide in your Application for Enrollment, So, please give us complete and accurate information of any previous flight experience you may have.
Scheduling
All flight training is by appointment and given on a one-on-one basis. Mazzei Flying Service is open for training 7 days a week. To insure your preferred start date, training schedule, and housing arrangement, please try to give us at least 2 weeks advance notice of your planned arrival.
Credit for Prior Flying Experience
Students with prior flight experience, or who have already passed their FAA written exam are eligible for course credit which can reduce the total training time, course hours, and course price. If you have any flight experience or hold a pilot certificate or license which you believe may be the basis for a course reduction, please write, telephone, FAX, or E-mail us with a detailed description of your prior experience. We can then provide you with an estimate of available course credit and an estimated course price. The actual credit you will receive is determined by an evaluation by our Chief Flight Instructor.
